2012 Trail Ride Schedule

Welcome to the PWHAT Trail Ride Program. We are very happy to present our 2012 Trail Ride Schedule. This year we have added four (4) new scenic locations to go along with several of our old favorites. Two of last year’s favorites, the Tom Moon trail ride and the Nancy McEwen trail ride are included again! Both of these rides are capped off with a feast fit for a king!!! The Tom Moon ride was voted “BEST TRAIL RIDE OF THE YEAR”

Last year was one of best for participation!!!! Highlights included special guest US Senator Bill Frist who joined us for two rides. Rex Nance won the “TRAIL RIDER OF THE YEAR AWARD” and Steve Smith received the “WALTER TURNER MEMORIAL TRAIL RIDE AWARD”

Be sure to always check our website at www.pwhat.com for schedule updates and cancellations if the weather is not looking too good. Cancellations are posted by Friday night prior to the Saturday ride. We will also have more details about each ride posted such as directions and approximate length of the rides. Williamsport Wildlife Management Area - Williamsport, TN - Approx:  10 miles

Take Highway 50 from Columbia, TN toward Centerville.  Go approximately 10 miles.  After crossing the Duck River Bridge in Williamsport, be looking for the WMA sign on the right.  Take a hard right and drive up the road to the trailer parking area.

Percy Warner Trail Ride – Nashville TN – Approximately 8 miles
Take I-65 to North Towards Nashville. Take Exit 74B Old Hickory Blvd towards Brentwood. Go 6.5 miles. Park entrance will be on the right. Pull in and follow road around to where the horse trailers are parked. Take same exit if you are coming south on 65 from Nashville.

 Natchez Trace Garrison Creek Trail Ride
Take I-40 toward Memphis. Take Exit 116 and go into Natchez Trace
State Park Entrance. Drive in towards park store. Parking will be just before getting to the park store. They do have a nice restaurant with breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets. Hours are posted on website. They also have a Wrangler Camp if you want to make it a long weekend

Cordell Hull Trail Ride – Granville TN – Approximately 10 miles
Directions: From Nashville travel Interstate 40 east to the Carthage exit #258. Take TN #53 north and travel approx. four miles to US #70 east (right turn off 70). Travel #70 approx. 7.5 miles to US #53 Granville and Gainesboro direction left turn (this turn is in a curve and in front of a Post Office on right). Travel approx. 5.5 miles to Granville. Go through town and past a boat camping site. Have lunch and ride back the two-hour ride to the trailers. Very level terrain.

Laurel Hill Wild Life Management Area - Summertown TN 
Directions: From Hwy # 43 (Columbia to Lawrenceburg) turn right on hwy # 20 (between Shell and Sonic) about one mile #20 merges with #240, travel 20 / 240 until 20 and 240 divide, follow 240 which turns left for 10 miles, turn right on hwy #241 (there will be a gas station on left before the turn. Follow #241 one mile and turn left on VFW rd travel ½ mile go right on Fennie Rd and travel one mile to trail head and parking.

Tom Moon Farm Trail Ride and Meal – Approximately 8 miles
From I-840 west take exit 37 Arno Road. Turn Right. Go .8 miles take left on Meeks Road. Go .8 miles and farm is on left. From I-840 east take exit 37. Turn left on Arno Road. Go .8 miles to Meeks Road. Turn left and go .8 miles farm on left.
